Welcome to Simply Collegiate

Simply Collegiate is an independent consulting practice I created after working in various roles within higher education. After college, I worked at the University of Michigan in cardiac rehab and clinical research. I returned to my alma mater, Central Michigan University, with a graduate assistantship, which involved teaching undergraduate labs. That was it for me—I fell in love working with students. My mentor at CMU, Dr. Roop Jayarman, continually poured into his students and inspired me to follow a career path in higher education.

At Xavier University, I managed their mentoring program and provided career exploration and counseling to students. My experience at Xavier allowed me to see how mentors can impact students.

We moved to Knoxville, where I continued to work in career development at the University of Tennessee. I taught career exploration and business communication courses through the College of Communication and Information. My role included performing student assessments, which helped students determine their strengths and interests. This was a valuable step for students to understand what major, job type, or company could best suit their unique needs and interests.

My husband and I live in Cincinnati, OH, with our four little ones, who keep life interesting (and the coffee flowing).
